The work only survives in one copy, with no known counterattributions. The omission of 'Mater Christi' (see below) might suggest that the work has been transmitted incompletely, as no other works have similar cuts. Beyond this, there are no obvious signs for or against the attribution.
Possible omissions
The text does not include any of the calls to Mary as mother ('Mater Christi' etc.), and some parts specify 'Mater tacet'. As no parts include music for this section and no parts appear to be missing, this was most likely supplied either in chant or music from another source, or omitted altogether.
