Johann Baptist Wanhal
Requiem in D Nokki 71
Wanhal ?
Nokki 71
Weinmann deest
Authenticity: Plausibly Authentic
This work survives in two copies, with no known counter-attributions. There are several stylistic aspects that are typical of Wanhal's style, such as the use of the galant cadence in choral sections and solo melodies based arond extended gap-fill-style melodies. There is therefore little reason to doubt that this was indeed written by Wanhal.
