Johann Baptist Wanhal
Missa in Bb Nokki 60
Wanhal ?
Nokki 60
Weinmann deest
Authenticity: Possibly Authentic
This is a relatively small work, and to the extent
stylistic signifiers are in place the attribution seems plausible. Note
in particular the varied reuse of music from the Credo in the Et
resurrexit, which MacIntyre1986 (p. 361) identifed as being typical of
Wanhal's masses. The use of clarinets and horns is not encountered in
music that can be safely attributed to Wanhal, but it is common in works
attributed to him in Czech localities, and may well represent a later
part of his production.
