Authenticity: Possibly (Partially?) Authentic

This work only exists in a single copy, and in a peripheral source. It appears that something has been done to the source, as the work seems to have D as its main tonality after the Kyrie (it does not concord with any works in D). Despite this, the work is stylistically similar enough to Wanhal for it to be considered plausible, even if the Kyrie movement originated elsewhere.

Despite the main portion of the work being in D, this work is catalogued under G, following the practice of identifying masses by their Kyrie movement.

Orchestration

The first oboe calls for a switch to a transverse flute in the Benedictus and the second Osanna. Whilst this is not indicated for the second oboe, the high range of the part suggests that this is also the case here.
