Authenticity: Probably Authentic
This work survives in several copies attributed to
Wanhal, and with no counterattributions. The pastoral style of the mass,
which marks it clearly for Christmas use, was typical of the Bohemian
lands above others, but also means that there are fewer stylistic
signifiers here than one might expect. Despite this, the work looks like
one by Wanhal, both in form and detail.
