Attribution: Questionable Authorship

The work is known only from one source. Stylistically there are some oddities, such as the fact that the vocal part in the Kyrie does not terminate on a tonic harmony, as well as the fact that several movements begin and end in different keys. This, however, has not been judged to be enough to entirely invalidate the attribution, as composers in Wanhal's milieu were known to employ such solutions.

Instrumentation

The clarinets are obviously written in a later hand, and these may be a reworking of now-discarded oboe parts.
